Mercer County Opportunity Industries

 

Mercer County Opportunity Industries (MCOI) is a nonprofit organization whose primary focus is the cultivation of employment opportunities within our community for people with disabilities, and with the help of local business, MCOI allows for an underutilized population to become a valuable part of the community.

 

A Sandra Gayle Monk Fund award of more than $1,900 for the purchase of a Printer/Ink Jet System that will allow the MCOI to provide an additional training area as well as an added income producer with improved environmental conditions.

 

 

The photo shows the printer and a sample of the type of screen print that the machine is capable of producing. No chemicals are needed and this printer can put an image on t-shirts or many other materials.

 

Mercer County Opportunity Industries has a full service sign and engraving shop to fill a variety of needs. Signs can be supplied to fit any budget from cost effective plastic to aluminum and wood in single colors to full color. Laser engravers can etch on a myriad of materials to produce plaques, name badges, name plates, desk wedges and many other products. Banners can be made in full color and solid colors in many standard and custom sizes. Proceeds from the sign shop help support other MCOI programs.

 

The system will also enhance the visibility of the organization’s training programs.

 

Utilizing involvement with West Virginia Association of Rehabilitation Facilities (WVARF), MCOI fills contract positions throughout Mercer County's state ran agencies, for example the Department of Highways.
