Donating to the Community Foundation
Help make your community a better place to live through a tax-deductible charitable contribution to the Community Foundation of the Virginias, Inc. By contributing to the Community Foundation, you will join with hundreds of community minded citizens who are working with us to solve the most challenging problems in Mercer County, West Virginia and Tazewell County, Virginia.
Through scholarship funds and grant funds the Community Foundation directs support to those who need it most, matching the generosity of the people of our area with the needs of its organizations and individuals.
Grants are made annually in the following areas of interest:
Education
The Arts, Culture and the Humanities
Health
Human Services
You can honor a friend or a loved one who has passed away by giving a Memorial Gift to the Foundation, and the Foundation will notify the family of the deceased of your generous gift, unless the donor wishes to remain anonymous.
Or, you can honor special occasions such as birthdays, anniversaries, holidays, and special events and awards for people you care about with an Honorary Gift made in their name. And the Foundation will notify the honoree or the honoree's family of your thoughtful gift, unless the donor wishes to remain anonymous.
